A selection of photos that were part of the photo exhibit that was displayed at CUNY’s Amsterdam Plaza.
The photo exhibit, based on the book published by VICINI titled “Identity and Magic: Folkloric Dances of the Dominican Republic” was inaugurated during the celebration of Dominican Week in the United States, and was co-sponsored by VICINI, CUNY and the Dominican Studies Institute.
Renowned Dominican folklorist, Dagoberto Tejeda Ortiz, author of the book from which the photos were extracted, speaks to the people who attended the inauguration of the photo exhibit.
